Diaz has finally completed his move to Bayern Munich on a four-year deal as Liverpool received a £65.5 million (€75m/$88m) transfer fee for the winger. Diaz was also linked with Barcelona after deciding to push for a summer exit, but Bayern have now won the race for his signature.

Liverpool released a statement confirming Diaz's exit, which read: "Luis Diaz has completed a permanent transfer to Bayern Munich after three-and-a-half years with Liverpool. The Colombian departs the Reds having played a significant role in the lifting of four major trophies since arriving from FC Porto in early 2022, highlighted by Premier League title glory last term."

Diaz’s departure is part of a wider attacking shake-up at Liverpool under Arne Slot this summer. The Merseyside club have already brought in Hugo Ekitike, along with Florian Wirtz, and are also chasing Newcastle United's Alexander Isak as a possible final addition to their frontline.
